Former SFPA Chairman and industry leader John Carmack Shealy, Sr. passed away Sunday, April 19. 2020.
A graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a degree in forestry, John worked for many years in the timber industry and retired from Willamette Industries as Vice President of the Southern Division in 1997. As an active member of both the Louisiana Forestry Association and SFPA, John’s dedication to the industry was undeniable. John remained active in his retirement by serving on the Board of Directors of Deltic Timber Company, spending time with family, and exercising with his running group.
SFPA appreciates the commitment John Shealy had to the association and remembers his reliable leadership and wisdom during his service as Chairman in 1992.
