Forest Products EXPO 2027: Get Ready for Savannah!

I’m excited to finally share that the 39th Forest Products Machinery & Equipment EXPO is headed to the Savannah Convention Center in Savannah, Georgia, from August 18-20, 2027.

Given how successful EXPO was in Nashville in 2023 and again in 2025, we truly looked at every option to keep the show there. Planning for EXPO 2027 actually started before EXPO 2025 even got underway, and Nashville was our first choice. As we worked through availability, though, it became clear that the city’s popularity as a major event destination meant our traditional summer dates just weren’t available. With that in mind, the association stepped back and began a thoughtful site-selection process to make sure we find the right fit for the future of EXPO.

Savannah quickly rose to the top. It puts us right in the heart of the Southern Pine lumber community while staying true to what matters most to our exhibitors and attendees—a high-quality, accessible, and cost-conscious event.

Alaina Hanson, SFPA’s director of administration, and I just got back from a site visit in Savannah, and I promise you’ll be happy. The convention center sits along the Savannah River, just across from the city’s historic district, which means there’s no shortage of great food, culture, and things to do once the show floor closes for the day.

Exhibit space sales are scheduled to open May 5, 2026, so keep an eye on sfpaexpo.com, follow SFPA on social media, and sign up for our newsletter to be the first to catch big announcements as they roll out. I can’t wait to share more, and I’m already looking forward to seeing everyone in Savannah in 2027.

Lumber Manufacturer Member Dues Credit for 2026

In case you missed it, SFPA’s Executive Committee has approved a $200,000 credit for its lumber manufacturing members, returning 65% of each member’s 2026 dues.

This marks the third consecutive year (and fifth overall) SFPA has delivered a dues credit, reflecting the collective strength of our members and the continued resilience of the Southern Pine lumber industry. I hope you’ll join me in celebrating this achievement.

By strategically leveraging its capital reserves, SFPA will return excess revenue through a dues credit applied to monthly reported Southern Pine lumber shipments, ensuring benefits flow directly back to members’ operations.

Do you manufacture Southern Pine lumber? I invite you to become a member of the Southern Forest Products Association! Email me at egee@sfpa.org, and let’s get your application started.
