John Tyler McShan Jr, born in 1926 and former owner of McShan Lumber Co. in McShan, Alabama, passed away December 12, 2025.
He was a respected leader and steadfast supporter of the Southern Pine lumber community. His dedication and meaningful contributions have left a lasting legacy, and he will be remembered with great respect and appreciation, especially for his contributions to
He was the fourth-generation owner of McShan Lumber Co., which opened in McShan, Alabama, in 1910, and led the sawmill into the 21st Century. McShan Lumber has been an active longtime lumber manufacturer member with the Southern Forest Products Association for nearly 70 years.
McShan was an ardent supporter of SFPA’s biennial Forest Products Machinery & Equipment EXPO until COVID-19.
