The Southern Forest Products Association (SFPA) Board of Directors elected a new slate of officers during its recent Annual Meeting in Asheville, North Carolina.

Joe Patton of Westervelt Lumber in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, will serve as Immediate Past Chairman. Tom Rice of Conner Industries, Inc. in Ft. Worth, Texas was elected Chairman. Rob Taylor of Weyerhaeuser Company in Federal Way, Washington will serve as Vice Chairman. Joe Kusar of Tolleson Lumber in Perry, Georgia was elected Treasurer.  The board also reelected Tami Kessler as Corporate Secretary, and Steve Conwell is the new SFPA President.

“I look forward to continue working with the excellent staff at SFPA,” Rice said.  “Despite the current market conditions, our association remains a strong voice in the industry, and I hope to build on that strength as our industry rebounds.”
